The Co-curricular Activity Progam of the Lake Denoon Middle School is a vital part of our educational system. The Co-curricular Program consists of clubs, activities, and athletic teams. The primary purpose of these programs is to assist students in growing and maturing into responsible members of our school and community. These activities are, and will continue to be, an important part of secondary school life. Co-curricular activities may be referred to as the 'other half of education.' These clubs, activities, and teams, provide students the opportunity to learn how to work in a productive relationship with a variety of people, how to deal with success and failure, the importance of self-discipline and mental pursuits, the ideals of team work and respect for others' feelings and attitudes.
In order to participate in LDMS co-curricular activities, students must meet the following criteria as outlined in the co-curricular code and as described below.
Physical Exam - All students who are interested in participating in an interscholastic competitive sport must have a physical and have a card on file PRIOR to tryouts. Students will not be permitted to tryout for the activity if this requirement is not fulfilled. Please click on the cards below and turn them into your coach. If you already had a physical last year, you need to file an Alternate Year Card prior to tryouts.
GPA eligibility - Academic criteria requires that students have a 2.0 GPA and have no more than one failing grade during the preceding nine weeks. For activities that begin during first quarter, fourth quarter grades from the previous school year will be used to determine academic eligibility.
Behavioral eligibility - Participants must show that they are responsible and respectful students to be eligible. Students who do not demonstrate appropriate behavior (detentions, office referrals, and general misconduct) prior to the activity may not participate in the activity.
Ability level in the activity of choice is the final factor used to determine eligibility.
