Community Building Project
During the 2019-20 school year, the 2nd-grade classes worked hard on a community-building project. They started by learning about why their classes would be sponsoring a fundraising event. They discussed how and why our school should raise money for swings and a new ground surface for our friends in wheelchairs. Their classes created posters for a Tootsie Pop Sale. The students wrote conversation hearts to spread kindness and promote their fundraiser. The 2nd grade raised $4,200 in Tootsie Pop sales. Amazingly, Pieper Power donated the remaining amount for the playground equipment. Paul Senft & Sons Trenching donated time and equipment for the installation of the surface over the summer break. What a great community! We are so thankful for the wonderful playground equipment for our students and our amazing community support!
