Thinking Students… Changing the World
Mill Valley adopted Wolf Packs in the 2017-2018 school year to foster relationships between students outside of their own classroom walls and to promote teamwork and a sense of community. Wolf Packs are composed of small groups of students from K through 4th grade and a Pack Leader. Students stay with the same Wolf Pack every year in order to build strong bonds and friendships. Each Pack belongs to one of 6 different colored Wolf Dens. In a typical year, Wolf Packs meet several times a month to explore how we, at Mill Valley, can better the world around us through our proactive thoughts and actions. Dens meet once a month in an all-school assembly where Golden Awards are presented to entire classrooms for demonstrating positive behaviors. Through Mill Valley’s PBIS implementation, we are focusing on being Respectful, Responsible and Kind. Together we will build a community of learners that will grow up to change the world.
Due to our inability to mix classes this year, we have not been able to continue the tradition of Wolf Packs. We do, however, celebrate our Wolf Dens by wearing our Den colors on the first Wednesday of every month and recognizing Golden Award winners over the morning announcements and showcasing them in the Mill Valley Weekly.
