Destination Imagination is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. Competition is at the state and World level. It is not a college bowl or a competition about knowledge. It's all about creativity. Destination Imagination is a team competition where students are rewarded for how they apply their knowledge, skills and talents to creative problem solving.
It offers students a unique opportunity to participate in fun, yet challenging activities. Teams of 5-7 students meet once a week, for about an hour, from December until Spring (depending on how well they do in the Regional tournament). Each team picks their own meeting time, usually after school or on the weekends (a time that works for everyone on the team). The children are encouraged to think "out of the box" and creativity is rewarded.
The Destination Imagination program makes learning fun!
